WORK EXPERIENCE
Senior Systems Engineer - Rackspace
As an SSE, my top priority is to ensure that the technicians I manage have the tools they need to complete their work and that they are motivated to provide the support our customers demand. I'm also responsible for interviewing new employees and representing my department to other departments. Mentoring new technicians is a large part of my work each day.
Originally, I was hired as a Linux Systems Administrator and my responsibilities included working with customers via telephone and trouble tickets. Customers would contact us for issues with their server configuration as well as general IT advice to improve their performance and redundancy.
VP of Operations / Lead Developer - SecureTrust Corporation (fmr. XRamp Security Services, Inc.)
I started as a support technician handling phone calls for our SSL certificate customers. Later, I was promoted to Lead Developer and VP of Operations, where I helped to develop multiple projects, including web site revisions, shopping carts, SSL-related tools, and a fully-managed IDS system. I participated in the CA/Browser Forum which defined the standards for Extended Validation SSL certificates.
Owner/Lead Consultant - MHTX Enterprises
This company began out of a demand for knowledgeable technical services that are delivered with a friendly attitude. I started the company and provided technical support for commercial and residential customers. My work involved building servers, repairing workstations, and designing networks. One of my greatest triumphs was how I introduced many customers to Linux-based solutions to cut cost and increase overall reliability.
Field Medic - American Medical Response
As a medic, I was personally responsible for providing emergent and non-emergent patient care in an out-of-hospital setting. My service record contained no investigations into my medical treatment or ambulance operation.
